Methodology

What is this directory?

The Algerian Directory of Digital Repositories (ADDR) is a descriptive directory that lists, describes and makes discoverable the digital repositories of Algerian universities, research centres and scientific institutions. It does not harvest repository documents and is not a search engine over their content.

How are records added?

  • An institutional representative or any user submits a registration or update request through the public form.
  • Fields and links are validated automatically and duplicates are detected.
  • The request is recorded as "pending review" and examined by an authorised national editor.
  • The editor accepts, asks for more information, or rejects with a stated reason.
  • No record is published before approval.

Verification

Information sources and review dates are recorded. Unverified information is labelled as such. Periodic technical checks cover the website and the OAI-PMH endpoint; a single failed check is never proof that a repository is closed: the "unreachable" status is only assigned after several consecutive failures spanning at least 48 hours.
